Launch of the Romania-Moldova cross-border project 2SOFT / 1.2.66

Today, July 6, 2021, the Institute of Power Engineering of Moldova as a leader in partnership with the beneficiaries - the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi"  of Iasi, Romania and Iasi County Council, Romania organized the public launch event of the project "Research and promotion of highly efficient energy generation through trigeneration by using solar renewable resources for getting electricity, heat and cold and purchasing of equipment ”, implemented within the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI) Cross-Border Cooperation Program for the years 2014-2020.

 The event aimed at the general presentation of the project and to inform the public about estimated benefits following the realization of proposed installations.

The director of the Institute of Power Engineering, Dr. Mihai TÎRŞU, came with an overview of energy consumption in Moldova and presented some possibilities for the application of Renewable Energy Sources (RES). He also brought several arguments regarding the benefits that will be obtained as a result of the development of RES in various sectors of the national economy.

Mr. Dr. Nicolae COVALENCO, manager of this project, came up with a detailed presentation of the project concept, the results to be obtained, but also the advantages of the proposed technology.

The project envisages the installation of a 10.5kWp pilot system of photovoltaic-thermal panels at the “Bucuria Sind” Spa in Vadul-lui-Vodă and another 4kWp system at the Răducăneni medical-social unit in Iaşi, Romania.

The presence at the event of over 50 participants from various organizations demonstrates the increased interest in such technologies, but also in new technologies for implementing RES.
